INITIAL BRIEF:
The client came to me wanting a young, trendy logo for his new band ‘Yes Lad’. The group had recently been on Britain’s Got Talent and were rapidly gaining traction within the music industry. Mr Martin-Smith thought they should have an actual logo to rival that of his previous band ‘Take That’

MY APPROACH:
I decided I should investigate the use of a modern, funky, graffiti based image for the new logo. It was to look modern yet retro at the same time (!). I created the logo to look ‘street’ but not so extreme as to be unreadable by the general public. I tried several variants of this style of logo. The client eventually settled on this, the first version.

THE RESULT
The band have managed to get a huge following among their ‘youth’ demographic on all their social media platforms, with many compliments from their followers specifically regarding their logo
